Santa Cruz de Tenerife is moving forward in its commitment to become a more sustainable, innovative and connected urban-Atlantic destination with a local identity. Under the framework of the Tourism Sustainability Plan for Destinations (PSTD), the municipality has initiated the creation of two new Tourism Product Clubs: the Nautical and Active Coastal Tourism Club and the Nature and Living Culture Tourism Club.
This project is developed within the action number 8 "Analysis and creation of tourist products" of the project of Competitive improvement and tourist reconversion of the coast of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The project, financed by the European Union - Next Generation EU, is part of the Tourism Sustainability Plan in Destination "Competitive improvement and tourist reconversion of the coast of Santa Cruz de Tenerife", within the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR).
This initiative was created to promote a more sustainable, competitive and participatory tourism development model in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, to organize and enhance the existing offer, to promote the professionalization of the sector and to create memorable experiences that integrate sea, nature, culture and territory. The clubs will bring together companies, associations, public entities and local communities under the same strategy of quality, sustainability and cooperation.
In addition, the project incorporates specialized training, support and mentoring for companies and a digital tool for managing tourism resources that modernizes the way in which the destination is organized and promoted.
Santa Cruz de Tenerife thus takes a firm step towards a tourism model aligned with new trends, where authenticity, sustainability and innovation become key pillars to continue building a lively destination, close and open to the ocean. Undoubtedly, a decisive step in the strategy of transformation of the tourism model of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, which will allow further progress towards a tourism that generates opportunities and welfare throughout the municipality.
